About
Playtest Atlas is an independent overview of games whose public Steam page offers a playtest. It is not an official Valve service and not a project connected with Valve.
What you will find here
A catalogue of games with a link to their Steam page, a description and genres. For every game the link leads straight to Steam, where you sign up for the playtest. This site cannot guarantee acceptance or immediate access — the developer and the game's rules decide.
Where the data comes from
The catalogue is built by automatic checks of publicly available Steam pages. We collect only information that is visible on those pages, and we do not present any of it as confirmation that you can play the game right now.
What the site cannot do
The site requires no registration or login, offers no newsletter and has no payment gateway. It has no game content of its own. Links to Steam are external.
Voluntary support for running the site
You can voluntarily support the running of the site by bank transfer. The account number, IBAN, BIC and QR code are published on the home page in the Support the site section. A contribution is voluntary, the catalogue stays free, and a contribution does not affect access to a playtest or the allocation of a key in any way.
The site itself processes no payment: there is no payment gateway, and we do not want a card number or bank login. You enter the transfer in your own banking app and choose the amount yourself. If the operator receives payer details from the bank, they are used only to match the contribution and are not linked to site traffic.
Measurement and trackers
Traffic measurement is voluntary and off by default. Without your explicit consent the measurement script is not loaded at all, nothing is measured and nothing is sent. The site has no advertising or marketing measurement, does not pass data to third parties for advertising and does not use Google Analytics. Fonts are loaded from this site, not from Google Fonts. Images and previews
Game previews load from the public Steam CDN. Your browser requests them directly from Valve, which may see the IP address and basic request details. We have no influence over that transfer.
Hosting
The site runs on hosting from Contabo. We have not yet verified the server location or the data processing agreement (DPA), so we do not state them here and we make no claim about transfers of data outside any particular area.
Technical server logs
The server keeps access logs (Nginx). One record contains the IP address, request time, method, path without parameters in the address (no query), protocol, status code, number of bytes transferred and request duration. The purpose is security and operations: recognising attacks, debugging errors and protecting availability.
Legal basis: the operator's legitimate interest in secure operation under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Only authorised site administration has access to the logs.
The targeted log retention is at most 7 days together with a file size limit. The rotation and limit configuration is still being finalised, so we do not state retention here as already established and verified. Once the configuration is confirmed, we will add the verified value here.

A catalogue entry does not mean that a playtest is currently running, nor that you will be accepted. The developer and the game's rules decide on access; the terms can change at any time.
